Symbol hjärna.

Risk communication is about communicating and creating awareness of potential risks and threats before a crisis strikes. The aim is to prepare individuals, authorities and other actors to reduce the likelihood of a crisis and minimise its consequences. Risk communication is often a long-term process that aims to build knowledge and trust over time.

Examples of risk communication related to the area of malign information influence may include:

Training in source criticism and how recipients can evaluate information they read, see or hear.

Information about disinformation, misleading information and propaganda and how your target groups can protect themselves and see through this type of influence.

Base communication on a risk and vulnerability assessment

The risks and vulnerabilities included in your organisation’s risk and vulnerability assessment (RVA) should be your starting point for communicating risks with your target group. An example could be that disinformation is being spread about your operations, which can cause unease among the general public.
