Youth Resilience Hub

Together with representatives from youth organisations, the Agency has established a network for collaboration called the Youth Resilience Hub. The aim of the network is to create conditions for long-term and inclusive cooperation between the Agency and civil society.

A network for collaboration

In the Youth Resilience Hub, the Agency and young civil society are to work together to develop psychological defence and create a more resilient society. Young people should be given the opportunity to actively participate in discussions and collaboration so as to contribute to developing psychological defence. In the network, young people themselves can take initiatives that strengthen Sweden’s resilience against malign information influence and disinformation. The network also provides opportunities for the exchange of experiences between young people from different organisations, giving broader and stronger cooperation.

The Psychological Defence Agency heads the work with the Youth Resilience Hub in close cooperation with young civil society and other relevant actors.

Why young people should be involved in developing psychological defence

Young civil society is a crucial part of Sweden’s total defence, for an open democratic society and strong psychological defence. The experience and knowledge of civil society needs to be harnessed in the effort to build resilience and willingness to defend.

The Psychological Defence Agency works through collaboration to attain inclusive psychological defence, in which young people are not only recipients of information, but also active participants and creators of society’s resilience – for example by building trust in society, promoting critical thinking and acting as bridge-builders between the Agency and young people.

Together, we have developed an orientation for the hub

This orientation is a commitment for both parties to work together to create stronger and more resilient psychological defence. Young people play a central and crucial role in the field and the hub orientation aims to increase young people’s awareness of their role and psychological defence. The orientation will also create an arena for young civil society, enabling active participation and contribution to psychological defence.
